Everything starts with a quick message on Facebook. Just tell us your occasion, date, rough numbers, colours and any ideas you have, and we'll take it from there. Most of our chats happen over Facebook Messenger — it's the easiest way to share photos and ideas back and forth.
For celebration cakes, the earlier the better — especially for weekends and busy periods. As a rough guide, please try to get in touch at least a couple of weeks ahead for celebration cakes, and as much notice as possible for weddings and larger orders. Got a last-minute request? Message us anyway — we'll always do our best to fit you in.
We're always happy to chat through allergies and dietary requirements when you enquire. Please tell us about any allergies up front so we can advise. Do bear in mind everything is baked in a home kitchen that handles allergens including gluten, egg, milk, soya and nuts, so we'll always be honest about what we can and can't guarantee.
Whichever you prefer! Not a buttercream fan? Amy does fondant too — a real life-saver for anyone who doesn't like buttercream. We'll help you pick whatever suits your cake and your taste best.
The Colburn Cake Shed opens the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month, 8am to 8pm, at 34 St Cuthbert's Avenue, Catterick Garrison. The shelves change each time and the best bakes sell fast, so follow us on Facebook for the exact dates and that opening's menu.
We're based in Catterick Garrison and loved by locals across Colburn, Richmond, Leyburn, Darlington, Northallerton, Ripon, Bedale, Bishop Auckland and the surrounding villages. Collection and delivery can be discussed when you order.
All of our orders are collection only, from Catterick Garrison, and The Colburn Cake Shed is self-service on its opening days. For celebration cakes, we'll agree a collection time that suits you when you place your order.
